Our Approach

Our Ministry

Harris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is committed to living out our commitment to Love God and Love People.  We work at this through carrying out Jesus command to Make Disciples (Matt. 28:19-20).  Directed by scripture and under the leadership and control of the Holy Spirit, we strive to lead people to faith (evangelism), guide them to maturity (discipleship), lead them to worship, build a strong relationships with each other (fellowship) and minister to each other and our community.

Our Story

Our Story

HCMBC was started in the 1930s.   Harris Chapel was started by a group of believers who were a part of our sister church, Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church.   Our church is named in honor of one of it's early members, Claborne Harris who made this property available to our church in its early days.   Today, Harris Chapel is a vibrant fellowship, with active members of all ages.

Our Members

The Doers

What happens at Harris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is done because the members of the church do ministry and make it happen.  In some churches members attend and pay church staff to do ministry.  Those ministers would be the first to say that is not how it is supposed to be.  God's intention is for Church members to do ministry and for pastors to equip.  By necessity, by love for the Lord and people, the members of HCMBC do the ministry.  We invite you to be a part of what God is accomplishing through our church as He ministers through us and allow us to be a part of His work and Mission!!!
